The Guinevere is a modern DP3 accommodation vessel designed to support offshore operations by providing stable living quarters and essential support systems for personnel working at sea.
The unit was delivered in 2025 and is classified as a +1A1 Mobile Offshore Accommodation Unit with dynamic positioning Class 3 capability, enabling it to maintain precise station‑keeping in open waters without the need for anchoring.
Built by COSCO at its Nantong shipyard in China, Guinevere features an innovative cylindrical hull design that contributes to stability and deck space efficiency. With accommodation capacity for up to 490 personnel in a mix of single and double cabins, the vessel provides comfortable living spaces as well as operational support areas. Onboard facilities typically include recreational zones, mess areas, and service spaces that help sustain long‑term offshore assignments.

The vessel is powered by a diesel‑electric propulsion system with six ABB Azipod thrusters and multiple high‑power engines arranged across separate engine rooms. The DP3 system combines redundant dynamic positioning sensors and thrusters to maintain position under challenging environmental conditions, which is essential for safe personnel transfer and operational support. Guinevere is also equipped with offshore cranes and a telescopic gangway that facilitates transfer between the vessel and offshore platforms. Additional features include helideck interfaces capable of supporting large helicopters such as Sikorsky S‑92 and S‑61N, as well as advanced fuel monitoring and reporting systems.
Since its introduction into the offshore support market, Guinevere has been made available for operations worldwide, offering flexible deployment in regions that require large‑scale accommodation support for drilling, maintenance, and construction activities. NIA DMCC works with the Guinevere platform as part of its offshore services portfolio, coordinating logistics and support operations to ensure efficient and reliable offshore personnel management.
